Give Help

Volunteer

Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Thousands of volunteers across the UK help food banks in the Trussell network provide emergency food and practical support to people facing hardship.

There are many ways to get involved, with roles to suit different skills, interests and availability. Whether you volunteer regularly or give just a couple of hours a week, your time can make a real difference to people in your community.

The Induction Process

  • On receipt of a completed application form we will reach out to discuss potential roles.
  • We will then proceed with contacting your references. (Some roles will also require a DBS check at this point.)
  • Once we have these you will be invited to a group volunteer induction where you will learn about our work, ask any questions and be given important information you will need for volunteering.
  • Your volunteering can then begin! You will be provided a main contact who will support you throughout your time volunteering with us.
