New Trustee – Finance – Ian Oulton

10th March 2018

Ian Oulton appointed Trustee, Finance

Ian Oulton has joined the trustee board in February. He will take over accountability for matters relating to Finance from fellow trustee, Diane Jenkins, who has been covering the role for the past year.

Prior to his retirement, Ian had a successful career in Banking and Finance for over 35 years. He has taken an active interest in supporting the Foodbank since its inception through his local Church (Helsby Methodist) where he is a Worship Leader. The Church is a well- established Foodbank collection point.

Married to Heather with two grown up children plus a recent new grandson, he enjoys keeping fit playing badminton, going to the gym and gardening. He also has a keen interest in singing and is Musical Director of Frodsham Sings Community Choir.

‘It is a sad reflection on today’s society that Foodbanks have to exist at all and demand shows no sign of dropping away. Financial matters are in focus at Foodbank with the need to develop ways to fund this work as we deliver our development plan to 2020. Last year our Foodbank cost over £1,400 per week to run.’

‘I look forward to playing my part in developing our proactive and innovative strategy and encouraging more local people to support us financially as well as giving food items. ‘

We welcome Ian and look forward to his contribution to our work and thank Diane, Karen and Helena for their extra efforts over the past year.
